Spring is also arriving here in the Weinviertel. The frosty nights and warm daytime temperatures play together perfectly: while the cold keeps pests at bay, the milder temperatures get the vines going. Soon life in the vineyards will literally explode - a special spectacle that we look forward to every year.
There is still a lot to do before that time comes: tying up the vines, tensioning the wires, aligning the uprights - each of these steps lays the foundation for a promising vintage. Unfortunately, the persistent drought of recent weeks is making itself felt, so we are longing for gentle spring rains to provide the soil with new energy.
