good year and good wine follows.”
St. Laurent
The St. Laurent grape variety is particularly important in Austria, followed by Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It comes from a Burgundy seedling and was mainly distributed in Austria from the mid-19th century by the Klosterneuburg monastery. The variety is a little diva in the vineyard that needs good locations and deep soils, demands a lot of foliage work and then grows into grandiose, noble grapes. Our Ried sets offer the ideal conditions for St. Laurent and with a little instinct you can also meet the demands of this diva. 😉 We are rewarded with fruity, elegant red wines with excellent storability and high quality.

Ried sentences 2020
Elegant, complex, but never powerful - pure St. Laurent! A diva in the vineyard, an enormous challenge year after year, but a revelation in the bottle, elegant and soft on the palate with delicate dark fruit, an ideal food accompaniment with finesse.

Wonderful notes of cherries and sour cherries, delicate spices; soft on the palate and very fruity with a delicate nuttiness and good enamel.
Food recommendation
Our St. Laurent - always elegantly combined with pink roasted rack of lamb with a thyme-olive crust, hearty tagliatelle with venison fillet or try our St. Laurent with chicken quesadillas with guacamole.
